Uniting families through play: Get to know Together in Play At Together in Play, play isn't just for fun—it's a powerful tool for connection and development. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are dedicated to providing inclusive, facilitated playgroups and events for preschoolers and their caregivers. Our mission is to build stronger families and a more supportive community, one playdate at a time.

Who

Together in Play serves preschoolers (ages 3–6) of all abilities and their caregivers in the North Ridgeville, Ohio, area. The organization is a community-building effort that supports the entire family unit. Caregivers gain a crucial support system and a better understanding of their child's developmental journey.

What

Together in Play provides low-cost, facilitated playgroups and special events that are both fun and educational. Activities are guided by the Experience Curriculum, ensuring purposeful and engaging play that promotes key skills.
"My Grown-Up and Me" Playgroups: These structured sessions focus on boosting social skills, emotional regulation, cognitive development, and physical activity.
Inclusive Events: Together in Play partners with other local organizations, like White Rose Ballet Academy and Lorain with Littles, to offer events like adaptive dance and family picnics.
Educational Support: Playgroups combine child-led play with meaningful discussions for caregivers on topics like managing emotions, routines, and positive discipline.

When

Together in Play offers a variety of playgroups and events throughout the year, with new themes and activities each month. Schedules are regularly updated online, with special offers and back-to-school kickoffs in September. The organization also holds donation drives, such as its September diaper drive, to support the local community.

Where

The inclusive playroom is located in North Ridgeville, Ohio, at 8540 Root Rd.. Special events are also hosted at other local venues, such as a recent adaptive ballet class held at the White Rose Ballet Academy.

Why

The goal of Together in Play is to empower families through the power of play. Programs create a safe and supportive space where preschoolers can develop essential skills and build a strong foundation for future learning. For caregivers, a network of support is offered, helping to reduce stress and build connections with other families. By fostering meaningful connections and providing accessible, research-based play experiences, Together in Play helps create a stronger, more inclusive community for everyone.
